RAINY SEASON

Just in time before the Water-Festival 'Songkran'  a courageous entrepreneur has put his business idea into reality.  Right at the entrance to the village of Ban Khomu he has beaten a game trail in the jungle. Courageous contemporaries can explore these on the backs of the elderly elephant.  

Do not worry - his Burmese-Mahout is always there. For five hundred baht per person you can get some Jungle Book feeling.

A special experience was the wedding celebrations of our friends Nawa and Mec. While Nawa is from the south Mec was born in Isaan. They both work as lawyers in Bangkok. What a truly mixed bunch came from all parts of the country to celebrate the wedding. 

And the two have come up with something really special to make this day unforgotten. In the morning, the Thai traditional rites were celebrated. In the evening a feast was followed by five hundred invited guests in the ballroom. We have enjoyed the day very much.

 Good luck you two - We hope you never need a divorce lawyer.

NetLada-Resort - Grand Opening

Thailands Number One Massagist Dahr has for many years harbored a dream: to create a Resort in her own terms.

With the help of her family and many friends this dream was now reality.  After an eight-month construction period there was a big opening party at the turn of the year. The notables of the area were all represented.

During our first years in the Thung Makham Bay, the Bay seemed to us more dreamy, not yet discovered by tourists and not yet discovered by the speculators. 

Most of the tourists where just passing through. They opened their eyes in disbelief when they arrived with the bus at five o'clock in the morning at Lomprayah Pier whether the beauty of the sourrounding landscape, but fixed on the booked diving holiday on Koh Tao.

The Big Tourism passed by the Bay. Not only our M.T. Resort can tell about such 'One Night Stand Tourism'. I take my hat off Kheow and Chai - the two owners - whether their countless ideas and attempts to bring long-term tourists to the bay. Loy Krathong

For nearly 800 Years Thai People celebrated the feast 'Loy Krathong' - Lights Festival - on Full Moon of the twelfth month of the lunar calendar, so in November, in honor of the goddess of water Mae Khong Kha. This year the festival falls on the 13th November.

During the celebration people suspend small boats made from banana sheets in the water. When they drift away, as they believe, they take along all the sins, sorrow, sickness and bad luck of the last year. At the same time they commit their good wishes for the new year to the goddess.

And of course, there is also a tradionell 'Loy Krathong' folk song ... playing morning until night on the radio and with everyone humming it whilst making their krathongs.
